Mike Hursey

Mike Hursey, owner of Casa Somerset Bed & Breakfast, began his culinary adventure started in 1994 when he enrolled in the culinary program at Johnson County Community College, an event that changed his life. In 1997, Mike attended a cooking school in Italy and was introduced to Slow Food. Then, in 2012, he was a delegate to Slow Food Terra Madre, a worldwide food conference. He was chosen by the Kansas City chapter of the American Culinary Federation as "Culinarian of the Year" in 2013. Currently Mike co-teaches a local food class at JCCC.
