Wouldn’t it be nice if your neighbor had a garden so big that everyone could stop in and pick what they want? If you don’t mind a jaunt up the highway to Kearney, you’re in luck. It’s pretty simple, really. Show up, pick what you want, and leave your money in the box.

Last year was the first year for Cary’s You Pick. Seeing the smiles break out on kids’ faces when they plucked carrots from the soil was the inspiration behind this year’s new children’s garden. Mark this one down as a great family event!

To keep tabs on what’s ready for harvest, follow Cary’s You Pick on Facebook. Last year featured okra, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, tomatoes, herbs, asparagus, greens, garlic, watermelon, and more. The ambrosia sweet corn was a big hit in July, and this year they will add some early variety tomatoes that will be ready at the same time.
